The Knowledge Path is Better

I once sat contemplating myself and comparing it to peers, those who spent their days and nights making a living while I spent my childhood and youth in learning. And I found out that there is nothing they possess that I will miss having, and I will have more regret than joy if I had what they had.

Then I scrutinized more, only to realize that the conditions I live in are better, and my value for those around me is higher, and above all, the knowledge I acquired is unmatchable.

Then I heard a voice: What about those tiresome sleepless nights?

To which I replied: when beauty crosses one’s sight, one can cut his own hand without feeling pain, and the road that leads to a friend can never be too long.

There have been days where I found the struggles I face on my path to knowledge to be sweeter than a spoon of honey, and it all because of what I aspire and hope to achieve.

In my childhood, I would leave the house and take the path of knowledge, where I will end up on the sides of the "Eissa" river, where the only food I have is a dry loaf of bread. It was dry to the point that I needed to drink from the river every time I had a bite. But I did not see this as a struggle, as the only thing that's in my sight was the pleasure of acquiring knowledge.
