Five Cool Restaurants to Try in Toronto

The restaurant scene in Toronto is a foodie’s paradise and unmatched throughout all of Canada. There are amazing restaurants, with atmospheres to match, no matter if you are craving your go-to staples or curious about something you’ve never tried.

So whether you’ve got your own Real Estate in Toronto and are curious about what’s around the corner or you’re just stopping through for a weekend trip, here are a few must-try places throughout the city.

Bang Bang Ice Cream & Bakery

There’s nothing wrong with tradition when thinking about ice cream flavors, but aren’t we all a little curious about what sits outside of the mainstream? If you’ve ever had a little wonder about out-there flavors, Bang Bang is perfect no matter where your curiosity takes you. No matter what you decide on, flavor-wise, don’t think twice about having them slam it between two of their house-made cookies.

Figures

For those unaware, Figures is completely committed to paying homage to the world’s most loved superheroes and comic book characters. From the exposition starters to the resolution desserts, their comic book love is built into every bite. Alongside their theme, there’s an elegance to match. That might not be expected when talking about comics, but thanks to its atmosphere, Figures sit alongside the best heroes of Toronto’s restaurant scene.

Snakes and Lattes

If you are the board game lover among your friends but can’t seem to get the others involved, Snakes and Lattes might just be what you need. You might already know that few things pair better than a good meal and board games, and selling your friends simply on the good meal at Snakes and Lattes might be the push they need to get curious about games as well.

There are plenty of board games on offer to play, so no matter the skill level of your table there’s plenty to choose from. Given anyone is curious about board games, but doesn’t quite know where to start, the staff at any of the locations throughout Toronto will be happy to make sure everyone gets all they want out of their experience.

Gusto 101

Another winner here in terms of atmosphere, Gusto 101 is located in a former auto body shop but don’t think that will leave your experience feeling cold and crammed. What they’ve done to the shop makes things feel not only warm, but comfortable and cozy to match the classic Italian fare on offer.

If visiting during the warmer months, do try and take advantage of their patio as a perfect place to enjoy a beautiful day with a drink to match but also don’t miss out on the sight that is their open kitchen for a glimpse of how the magic happens.

The Lakeview Restaurant

For the late-night foodie, it’s hard to beat the pull of a diner. At the Lakeview Restaurant, not only will you have all options regardless of the time, but you’ll also be brought right back into the Toronto of yesterday as the diner has been in operation since the 1930s and contains much of that original charm. Speaking of charm, there’s plenty of the classic diner fare on option here as well as a few creative surprises.
