1. Glastonbury
This five days festival is perhaps the most famous of those in the UK. Every other year, the cosmic, new age village of Glastonbury holds court to a variety of top name musicians and entertainers. From pop to dance, crafts to theatre, spoken word to tents that offer chai and the opportunity to chill, there’s something here for everyone.
2. Lollapalooza
Another very well known fest, this one is Chicago-born and bred and brings a variety of names and new musical talent to the windy city in August each year. Attend for one day, or the full four. Either way, you’ll get a new wind to your sails from attending lively Lolla’.
3. Exit
This newer festival has certainly made a name for itself in recent years. Set in edgy, intriguing Serbia, it’s both award-winning and located in a fantastic and dramatic location, the impressive Petrovaradin Fortress.
4. Tomorrowland
If electronic music’s your bag, then head to Belgium for Tomorrowland. This epic fest takes place in a town called Boom (but of course) and you’ll be dancing ‘til you drop when the music booms and beats, as well. This festival began back in 2005 but becomes ever more epic each year.
Get Googling for other fine festivals and, depending on your preference, get dancing, jiving, raving, or doing the fandango this summer at a sensational summer festival somewhere in the world.
