Acorn Building Services Began Their Operations

As part of its efforts to strengthen its dedication to the development of additional social value for the advancement of the local communities in which it operates, Acorn has established an entirely new division. The United Kingdom-based recruiter Acorn Building Services is going to consolidate its Construction, Mechanical, Engineering, and Housing divisions into a single entity in order to help increase the number of long-term employment opportunities available to under-represented groups in all industries.

In recent years, Acorn has overseen a number of social value initiatives and has consistently championed the introduction of new entrants into the construction industry. This has been accomplished through collaboration with partners such as Her Majesty's Prison & Probation Service and the homeless charity The Wallich, as well as through the implementation of Acorn's very own Women in Construction initiatives and other similar endeavours.

Its Acorn Building Services division will now help drive forward new projects and initiatives aimed at further supporting its clients in contributing socially as well as economically to areas they work in too. Initially, the division's focus will be on South Wales and Bristol.

Lawrence Beach, who serves as the Director of Client Development for Acorn, will be in charge of the development of these initiatives, which will concentrate on social value, people pathways, tenders, and other topics. The Operations Director, Osian John, will also serve as the operational head of the new division and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the team that is involved.

Lawrence stated that "the work that Acorn has already done using employment as a key driver to create social value is something that we are hugely passionate about across the organisation," and that "we feel now is the time to push forward with plans to implement and develop a range of new initiatives that we hope will prove invaluable to both Acorn and the businesses we support in the future also."

Acorn has a network of 30 branches that assist businesses with their recruitment needs. The company does this through its specialist divisions, which cover a variety of industries including manufacturing, production, information technology (IT), legal, construction, commercial, energy, life sciences, and aerospace.

Its Building Services division will initially provide support to teams located in Cardiff, Bristol, and Gloucestershire with the goal of developing temporary and permanent employment partnerships with a community focus across the construction and housing sectors more generally.
