KOREAN DRAMA REVIEW : CHEESE IN THE TRAP

Hellooo, finally I can review dramas again. This time I want to talk about one of the hottest Korean dramas that just ended a few weeks ago, the title is Cheese in the Trap.

This one drama is adapted from a webtoon. The story is set in college life. Apart from romance (of course), the theme is friendship, and psychology. The cast includes Park Hae Jin (that's what alien oppa's rival is in You Who Came from the Stars), Kim Go Eun, Seo Kang Joon (kyakyakya) Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk (whose acting and character are more fitting than his acting). previously in other drakors, one of which was School 2015).

My rating *drumroll* 8 out of 10 . The plot and characterization are good because they are unique, but the ending is a little disappointing. This drama is suitable to watch for the young-adult age range, especially for those who like psychology and college students who are about to enter the world of work.

Everyone adores Yoo Jung (Park Hae Jin) but Hong Sul (Kim Go Eun) believes that his senior is not as good as others think. Even though there's no solid evidence, Hong Sul's instincts say that the kind-hearted Yoo Jung is the culprit behind some bad events on campus. There is cruelty in Yoo Jung's angelic smile, there is extraordinary manipulation ability in her sweet words.

The thing is, Hong Sul isn't vigilant enough to keep his mouth shut about this, and Hong Sul knows for sure that that's the reason why he keeps getting hit by misfortune. Starting from slander, to unwarranted jealousy from those around him, Hong Sul knows this all because Yoo Jung feels Hong Sul suspects him. Especially after Hong Sul saw for himself how different Yoo Jung's attitude towards him was in the crowd and when there were only the two of them.

The horror is so great that it drives Hong Sul to avoid Yoo Jung. If necessary, she would take the umpteenth semester off instead of having to deal with the guy. But somehow since when, Yoo Jung began to show interest in Hong Sul. Previously, Yoo Jung gave him a hateful look, this time Yoo Jung continues to invite him to lunch without getting tired, not to mention the gestures that make Hong Sul uncomfortable.

What really happened? Does this include Yoo Jung's way of torturing Hong Sul indirectly like before? Had Hong Sul's instincts been wrong all this time? But why is the horror in his heart still there and so real?

As I said at the beginning of the post, this drakor is good because the plot and characterization are unique compared to other drakors. This drama Cheese in the Trap mainly discusses psychological ailments that occur in social interactions that we usually encounter–especially on campus. Starting from clichés such as members who earn a blind salary in work groups, opportunists who want to be successful on their own and really don't want to waste energy for others, self-conscious people who slow down progress, mercenaries, lewd seniors, to more serious psychological cases like stalker with potential erotomania , as well as apathetic manipulative attitude and tends to lead to a sociopath .
