Reasons I Go To The Organic Grocery Store Near Me!

I absolutely love food, and I also love cooking! I can spend hours thinking about and planning what I’m going to eat. Food is a super important part of my life, and I’ve always been passionate about eating well.  I believe that what we put into our bodies is what we get back out of it, health and energy-wise, I mean! That’s why I’m always interested in learning more about food and how I can better care for my body by being mindful of what I eat daily.

I’d often heard people tout the ‘amazing benefits’ of organic produce, but I wasn’t really sure if it was true. So when I saw they had opened some organic grocery stores near me, I decided to investigate. I was intrigued to find out more!

What I discovered about organic food was really beneficial, so I wanted to write this blog post to share what I’ve learned in the hopes that it will help you too!

If you haven’t heard of organic food before or don’t know what it means, I’ll do a quick rundown. Organic food refers to any product that is grown without using chemicals such as synthetic herbicides, fertilisers, antibiotics, hormones and pesticides. Instead, only natural farming techniques can be used! This applies to both crops and livestock.

Organic farms work hard to produce naturally grown livestock and produce in a way that keeps food safe. They grow products without using harsh chemicals or other substances that could be harmful to the environment or our human bodies. I’ve read about a lot of benefits to eating organic food during my research, but in this article, I’ll just share the ones that I have personally found myself, reasons why I love to shop at the organic supermarket near me. Let’s get started, shall we?

Improved Health

I always heard that organic food is healthier than conventional produce, but I never knew why until now! As mentioned above, because organic food is grown without using harsh chemicals and pesticides, eating food grown in this way helps reduce the number of toxins ingested into our bodies!

There’s also a lot of talk about how organic food can lower the risk of chronic health problems and other diseases. Although there isn’t yet enough conclusive research to support this, it does make sense that eating fewer chemicals would make our bodies less likely to get sick!

Better For The Planet

Not only is organic food better for our bodies, but studies have also shown that it is better for the environment too. How great is that! The way organic farming is carried out helps to promote water and soil conservation. It significantly reduces the number of toxins and chemicals that enter into our soil and water cycle. Organic farms are also much more environmentally conscious, ensuring not to waste resources and energy. All these things add up to make a positive impact on the health of our planet!

More Nutrients & Antioxidants

Thanks to the better soil quality of organic farms and the fact that they do not use harsh pesticides and chemicals during the process, organic food can have a higher nutritional value than produce which was grown conventionally!

They may also contain a higher level of antioxidants. These are needed in your body to protect your cells from damage. Antioxidants can also help reduce the risk of serious diseases such as cancer and heart problems.

I realised that if I wanted to keep my body healthy, eating food with higher levels of nutrients and antioxidants was a must, and that’s one of the biggest reasons I decided to start buying from the organic supermarket near me.

Boosts Your Immune System

Another great benefit that has been shown to come from eating organic food is improved function of the immune system. And I definitely feel like I have had a lot less cases of flu and colds lately. The reason that organic food is so good is that, as previously mentioned, it has higher levels of vitamins and minerals, which help to strengthen our immune systems!
