Abu Dhabi and Dubai remain the most liveable cities in the Middle East and Africa in 2024 and are improving their performance in health and education, according to a new global ranking by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
Abu Dhabi ranked first in the world with the highest level of safety (88.2 points) and the lowest crime rate (11.8 points). Dubai ranked fifth in the ranking of the safest megacities in the world.
The Dubai Health Authority has provided statistics showing that there are 5,020 medical facilities operating in the emirate, and the number of licensed doctors has reached 13,370.
At the same time, 67 hospitals, 1,136 medical centers, 765 clinics, 1,068 pharmacies and 287 other healthcare institutions receive patients in Abu Dhabi. There are 12,922 licensed doctors working in the UAE capital.
